Hi, I’m Sheila Cox…pleased to meet you. Let me tell you a little about myself.
The first few things that you may want to know about me: What are my defining traits? What kind of character do I have? Well, the traits that my friends and family use to describe me, are:
- Ethical, trustworthy, honest…to the point to driving back to a grocery store to pay for a 25 cent doughnut if I forgot to pay the first time.
- Reliable and results oriented. I do what I say and say what I do.
- Readily available by cell phone, text messaging, or email during business hours: 9 to 6 CST, Tue-Sat.
- Focused on “follow through.” You won’t sit around wondering where I am and what I’m doing. I stay in touch before, during, and after the sale closes!
- Technically savvy. I use all the latest high-tech gadgets and social marketing tools to get your house seen by the highest number of potential buyers.
- Organized and efficient to save you time and effort.
- Innovative and creative. Able to think “outside the box” to successfully negotiate, solve problems, and make deals happen.
- Friendly with a good sense of humor and able to laugh at myself (voted “Wittiest” in my high school senior class).
- Smart and analytical. Let me help you make wise decisions by providing you with the information and tools that you need to do so.
- Assertive and loyal. When I’m working for you, my “fighting Irish” instincts come into play and I will stand up, defend, and protect your interests to the best of my ability.
Previously I owned a successful technical writing and training consulting firm, TrainWrite Technologies, specializing in developing training programs, user’s manuals, and Websites for the software industry. I also have a Business Degree with a major in Marketing from a major university in Texas. So you could say that I’m a business-minded “techie” with a flair for helping people. I use the business knowledge that I acquired during my previous career and education to create unique tools for buyers and sellers to use in their real estate transactions for successful outcomes.
For the past three years I have been focused on going Green with eco friendly products both inside and outside the home. That’s why I chose to obtain the EcoBrokerâ designation…so I can help my clients live better, naturally, through non-toxic, environmentally friendly, sustainable, energy-efficient housing. I am passionate about improving the health of our children, and their children, for generations to come, by minimizing the toxins they are exposed to in our homes and in our environment. It’s amazing how truly simple it is to remove most toxins from our children’s living environment…if only someone would educate us on the need! My daughter is 5 years old and has never been sick enough to require antibiotics. That’s pretty rare these days, but I credit at least part of that to the fact that her body isn’t so weighed down with heavy metals, phthalates, chlorine, and other toxins, that it can focus on building a great immune system.
Beside my husband, daughter, and dogs (a toy Eskie and a French Bulldog) I am dedicated to our community and active in volunteerism…I love to help people! In recent years I have volunteered and/or belonged to the Junior League, MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers), the MOMS Club, church “Sunday School” and VBS for toddlers. I am currently active volunteering with a local food co-op, The Third Day Health Market, my daughter’s school, and the Houston Alzheimer’s Association–an organization I truly care about because I know they are making a difference in the lives of families affected by Alzheimer’s.
On a personal note, I’m an avid movie buff, with Aliens, 300, The Abyss, Forest Gump, Armageddon, All About Eve, Dangerous Liaisons, Something’s Gotta Give, Babe, Finding Nemo, City Slickers, and Braveheart being among my older favorites. My newer list of favorites includes Gone Baby Gone, Blood Diamond, Crash (2004), Children of Men (a must-see film!) and The Prestige.
I also like to read, with The Lord of the Rings, Pride and Prejudice, The Robe, To Kill A Mockingbird, Count of Monte Cristo, and Vanity Fair being at the top of my list. In addition, I like to make jewelry, go camping, and I’m always up for a trip to the beach–any time of the year!
